Fish Farm Support Ship from Norsa to Firda Seafood

Norse Group, succeeding in the world’s first hydrogen-powered ferry project, has added another low-emission sea vessel project to its portfolio. The fish farm support vessel Firda Welfare, built by Norse for the Norwegian salmon producer Firda Seafood, was designed to serve as a hybrid. It will be used to clean the parasites on salmon and has a battery capacity of 484kW. The ship will partially navigate and run on battery power and will continue to operate with minimal emissions.

World's first hydrogen-fueled ferry launched

The world's first hydrogen powered ferry Hydra built by Norse Group was launched with a ceremony. The ferry, 82 meters long and 17 meters wide, has a carrying capacity of 80 cars and 299 passengers.
